Day 11- Rocking the rockhole

So my plan to post this yesterday afternoon didn't come to pass. We had a busy day. The 3 of us went out to buley rockhole in the litchfield national park (100ish km south west of Darwin) and went for a swim in the beautiful semi natural pools (some modification has been done around the edges for safety) and had a picnic. As it was quite busy and little miss wasn't feeling 100% we went off to have a look at Florence falls and then headed home.
We will definitely head back out there again again before we leave the NT. will be going out earlier in the day to avoid the heat

As for little miss not feeling very well. We have been having a heap of issues with constipation. We have been using the nuddie method of toilet training and she's fantastic with her wees but hold her poos until she's completely blocked up and in pain. If anyone has some gentle suggestions on how we can help her with this please leave me a comment below. (we have tried all the dietary suggestion we can find but it seems to be a psychological thing for her...Afraid to poo on the toilet or potty for some reason. I hate seeing her in pain!

Cheers.

Days 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 Making the most of the time we have

Sorry about the lack of posts over the past few days/week, hubby is on his last week of holidays so we have been making the most of having family time before he goes back to the daily grind.

So here's a quick update (I will also be posting again tonight about today's activities. )
-I have posted anonymous photos of myself in my undies on a wonderful Facebook page to spark conversation on the way a woman's body really looks post baby. It's also made me re-thing "my mother body"
-I have taken a look in a "full length mirror" and found support from a group of lovely women all looking to make 2012 the year of their best body.
- I lost 2kg in my first week of weight watchers.
- had a doctors appointment and the new doctor I'm seeing is not convinced that the blood tests definitely show pcos so I have had more blood tests and have an ultrasound booked for next week.
So as you can see its been a pretty busy few days (add to that list all the mummy and fun stuff we have been doing)

Hope it's been a good few days for all of you as well.

Cheers

Day 5- I must! I must! Restrain my bust!

Pre-post question... Do you think it is a good idea to make a pathetic to pinup facebook page? Let me know in the comment section :)

After yesterdays body whinge post I figured I need to pull my head out of my arse and change my attitude

Today was an awesome family day.
Took miss Maddie to the Darwin water park to catch up with a good friend and her kidlets.

I have no idea why I didn't go sooner!! We have been here 6 months and 15mins down the road there is a great FREE water playground and we had never been!!

Ok so that's a lie. I know why we hadn't been....I didnt want to wear my swimmers in public! (lame huh! My beautiful daughter missing out on fun because mummy is worried about what people with think of her! Stupid!!)

I admit I didn't go swimming today (lady time. And after not having it for 80 days due to the pcos it's not pretty!!) but we will be heading back later in the week and I will be definitely adorning my bathers and jumping in!

I was so happy to see so many different mummy bodies there. Everyone looked different. No one was perfect and yet the only thing I noticed was the confidence! And everyone was HAVING FUN!
That's what it's really about for me with my pin up project.
Yes I'm going to work on losing weight but it all really comes down to health and living the skin you're in at that moment. Not in 5kgs smaller, not in my legs need to be more toned, right now!!

Anyhow about my title for today. In my very first post I talked about going to the shops shoeless and braless. Well today I was wearing the same dress as that eye-opening day...WITH a bra!

The strange thing was I felt better about me, so I acted as such, and it seemed that people reacted better because I gave off a better vibe (or maybe it was just one of those super happy days in downtown Darwin...unlikely!)

So I thought I would show you what difference a good bra can make to your bust line (actually the one I was wearing wasn't good, but that's a post for another day!) and even make you appear slimmer (by heaving up those bangers and exposing a longer area of waistline) ...see you all just learnt something!

(mostly its just a vanity shot of how awesome my cleavage looks in a bra to encourage me to starting one more often!!)

Enjoy! ;)

Day 4 - ooppsie daisy!

Today I had a day of pure teenage angst mixed in with a whole heap of body hatred and a pinch of how the hell did this happen!! I think the results of the scales at the fat fighters...opps I mean weight watchers meeting shook me more than I cared to admit. I've gained over 15kg since my friend Fi's beautiful wedding in April. I worked so hard to lose it and it all came back and found me and brought along a couple of friends to party on my backside.

The basic idea of weight watchers is each food is worked out to have a set number of points and based on your age, weight, height and gender you get a number of points for the day.
At the moment I get 30 points per day.
Today I consumed over 80 points.
EPIC FAIL!
I could make all the excuses in the world like
-I'm doing the grocery shopping tomorrow and the fridge is looking empty.
-PMS makes me crave crappy food
- The day ended with the letter Y
And so on.
But truth be told I have just stopped thinking about what I'm putting in my mouth. It's not until I started writing it all down. Scary stuff!!

At least I know where I went wrong an can correct my mistakes tomorrow.

Do you keep a food journal? How do you think it helps you keep on top of your food intake?

Cheers

Day 3- Have a bit of dust!

Today I joined weight watchers. I wasnt really planning on it but a friend said she was going today and I figured, what harm can it do!! Turns out I'm 5kg heavier than I was at the doctors before Xmas. Bugger!! But at least I'm acknowledging it, usually I just pretend it's not happening as has become my way over the last few years in regards to my weight and body image. I'm like a mushroom. I keep myself in the dark and feed myself bullshit! The aim is to lose just over 30kg. But will focus on 5kg blocks for now.

To leave you with a photo for this evening, here's a pic I took on my phone at 2am this morning of a lightning strike during a very busy electrical storm.

Cheers

(note- the blog title is in reference to fat fighters in the tv series " Little Britain" very funny!!)

Day 2- Out with the old!

What a busy busy day!!
I tackled my wardrobe today. Wasn't looking forward to that at all!

Once upon a time my wardrobe was my pride and joy. A dazzling array of amazing outfits, shoes and accessories that all made me look amazing....And all fit!
Since having my daughter I have gained 30kg. I have worked my butt off to lose it only to get frustrated with the very minimal results after months and months of hard work and slack off. Diets and drugs (prescription) have failed as well. I have recently discovered that I have pcos (Polycystic ovarian syndrome) which has most likely attributed to at least part of this.
So instead of hanging onto the past (and my size 8 jeans) anything that ...
A) Didn't fit (except for the goal clothes that are neatly packed away! Every woman has these...Right ??!)
B) Didn't suit or
C) Didn't fit with the me I want to be and the style of dress I want to wear or
D) All of the above, went out!! (or dumped in a huge pile in my bedroom until tomorrow when I have to photograph them to list for sale anyhow.) I also ditched the shoes that hurt, look the same as at least two other pairs I own or are just not my thing.
It was surprisingly stressful while I was doing it. It was like being forced to recognize that I'm not the same person I used to be, and I don't just mean the shape of my body!
Once I had finished it was liberating! I had loads of free space and could see exactly what I owned. (which turns out to be alot of winter things! Not so useful in Darwin!!)

So as today draws to a close I'm off to bed.

Cheers

Day 1- Dude looks like a lady!

Because it's only day one we might start off gentle and ease into all the hard hitting stuff about self esteem and yummy Vs slummy mummies. Save those for the post festive season when the collective seasonal hangover is a distant memory!

Many of life's lessons are learnt by accident. Some of these lessons are learnt as children, some aren't learnt until later in life.

Today I learnt that bigger isn't always better, especially when it comes to eye lashes.
I attempted to apply false lashes today. My 3yo daughter told me while giggling, "you're not a lady!!" while my husband snickered to himself.
So before I took a photo of my doe eye, drag queen look I thought I would trim them a bit. Rookie mistake. Apparently my real eyelashes are longer than I though and I took the tips off them. Oppsie! Any how heres a post trim pic.

And my question for today. What the heck should I do about my eyebrows??!!

Hope you are all having a great first day of 2012!

Cheers
Cie.
